Montana S85 Disintegrating Sulfur Granules

Montana S85 Disintegrating Sulfur Granules is a high analysis granular disintegrating sulfur product that can be used both as a soil amendment for the correction of alkali soils and as a plant nutrient source. Natural slow “break down” of the sulfur provides a stable and reliable food source for soil-microbes that convert sulfur into sulfate, which means long lasting availability of sulfates when compared to other forms of sulfate fertilizers. Continued soil management (annual application) with Montana S85 Disintegrating Sulfur Granules will steadily improve sulfur levels in the soil and will also aid with other available associated nutrients. Montana S85 Disintegrating Sulfur Granules is great for sulfur-loving crops and acidic soil plants (i.e. Legumes, Potatoes, Blueberries, Corn, and Oil Seed Crops such as Soybeans and Canola).

Safety Data Sheets

Read Safety Data Sheets before handling.

Handle this material properly and safely. Do not use near sparks or open flames except in properly designed sulfur combustion equipment. Handle dry sulfur products with suitable electrically grounded, non-sparking equipment. Dry solid sulfur products may produce static electricity and sparks from friction during handling and conveying. Avoid crushing, abrading and high-impact handling which can produce excessive dust. Always use adequate ventilation or other measures to prevent excessive dust in the air. Airborne sulfur dust may explode or burn if ignited by spark or flame. The thermal ignition point in air is reported as 478°F-502°F. Prevent accumulation near spark-producing activities and hot surfaces such as exhausts, light bulbs, appliances, etc. Do not store near explosive or strongly oxidizing materials such as nitrates.

If fire does occur, stay upwind to avoid toxic, irritating sulfur dioxide gas. Severe exposure to combustion products may induce coughing, and eye and/or throat irritation. Treat as for smoke inhalation: get to fresh air immediately. Restore normal breathing. Flush eyes with cool, clean water. Do not rub eyes. Seek medical attention if you feel unwell.

Extinguish burning sulfur with water or smother with dirt or sand. Use eye protection and respirator suitable for acid gases around combustion products. Sulfur burns with a short, blue flame.

Work with adequate ventilation. Where prolonged exposure to dust is possible, good work practice advises the use of eye protection and dust masks such as 3M-Company #8210 or equivalent. This material is not intended for human consumption, nor for use by persons other than those qualified by experience and/or training in the proper handling of industrial/agricultural chemicals. Clean up spills with non-sparking tools or wet methods. Dispose of this product and any packaging in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
